M2 steel is a high-quality tungsten-molybdenum tool steel, used for manufacturing top-quality cutting tools. This steel is characterized by excellent cutting properties. A high content of molybdenum greatly improves hardenability, and also increases toughness and corrosion resistance. Tungsten increases the steel's wear resistance; these drills do not dull as quickly as those made from cheaper high-speed steels.
